Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to extend a hearty welcome to you. I am glad that you have decided to be part of the Early Childhood Education Program (Pre-K).

In the Waterbury Public Schools System, there are many programs that are set up to help your child excel in school. Being a part of the Pre-K family also mean you and your child are part of the Title I program.

As the Family Intervention Strategist, my job is to extend educational opportunities to you and your family. These opportunities include workshops, training, and conferences specially geared toward training parents. All expenses are paid by the program and transportation is provided. Within the next few months, there will be several exciting events happening just for parents.

  • District Parents Advisory Council (D.P.A.C.) meetings every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

  • "Kids Who Read Succeed" Workshops

  • Parents Workshops

  • Thematic Activity Backpacks

We, as a group, hope to plan a City-Wide Conference to celebrate parents and the roles they play in our children's education. You, as parents, are very important to your child's education. There are always opportunities for volunteer work to be done at your convenience. Please feel free to call me with any questions, concerns, or ideas
at 574-2414, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am-2:30pm.

Thank you,

Pablo Rivera, M.Ed, BS
